This song makes me miss the people who were in my life when I first listened to it, the good days of listening to colouring book with my buddies and smoking for hours with endless stuff to talk about and joke with each other about. I can’t seem to find joy with life anymore but every time I listen to this song it brings me back to how I felt at that time in my life and still gives me chills. Amazing song and album chance

I've always viewed the lyrics as losing your loved one. Your soul mate. The strongest drug of them all... Love. I lost my person a year ago... And til this day I still can hear her singing this song when it first came out. Never did I imagine I would be singing it alone in my car thinking about how her and I don't do the same drug anymore... Love.

I think it about the divergence in their life’s as the person they once knew grows to other things of joy and they no longer have that connection they once had.

Yea I compare to growing up and learning how to love and not be toxic to your lover. Be your best self cause the one that truly loves you wants that and deserves it.

    3. Castro Diase
      Castro Diase
      7 dögum síðan

It is more like growing up I compare it to songs like “pretty little birds” by Sza which also brushes on the feeling many young creatives have of getting distracted or beat down to the point where they lose their wings, inner child and their path in life . The “drugs” part most likely is just a build on the message of what you can revert to once you’ve given up
