The best way I can think to illustrate the cracks on the opposite side would be imagine a Newton's Cradle and the moving ball in the end is a bullet. The most dense of energy from the impact travels through the center and then opposite end of the sphere to the 3rd ball which is nothing but air in this case.

Its sending a sound wave through the ball. The bullet impacts the ball, and the atoms in the ball collide with one another, and send a ripple through the ball that ends up shooting out the back. More damage is done at the end of the ball then in the center because there is nothing but air to stop them, its kind of like those pendulums where one ball hits 4 others and only the last one bounces away. Sound waves are really interesting when you think about them. For instance, I starting thinking about whether you could transmit information faster than light by using a very long pole. Lets say you had a pole that went from earth to mars (don't worry about that fact that they are rotating and revolving, just pretend they stay fixed in space). And you use that pole to send morse code, pushing the pole a foot out for "on" and bringing it back for "off". The delay from the earth to mars using light or radio waves is between 3 and 22 minutes.. I knew that there had to be some reason this long pole idea wouldn't work to transmit information instantaneously. Turns out if you pushed the pole up a foot, the entire pole would compress in on itself so that it was one foot shorter than before, and then a wave would transmit at the speed of sound in whatever the material was that the pole was made out of (much slower than light) until it finally arrived at its destination. In fact any time you move an object the end furtherest from where you lift it arrives at its final desintation slightly after the end closest to your hands. Just picking up a cardboard box causes it to compress and then expand... anyway I think I've gone off topic a bit..

The other side of the glass shatters due to the force on impact going around since the glass is spherical layered and isn't 100% connected on each layer. (I'm pretty sure this is the correct explanation, but I could've worded it better or I got it wrong.)

I think i can explain the rebound to thw back of the ball but i could be wrong the bullet transfers its energy to the ball and then the energy spreads out across the surface and then goes to the back of the ball and reaches a single point and shatters the glass again so any thoughts or questions?

Most likely the "Cracks" you are seeing on the other side of your ball is actually the refraction of the light projecting a mirror image of the real hole on the other side. Its similar to the physics of a pinhole camera, how the camera flips the image coming in through the hole, only the difference is, youve got light coming in from all sides and its bouncing around inside the glass ball because its concave. So you kind of have a 3D mirror. The best way to show what I mean is to take one of the balls, mark a dot with a pen, and then look at the other side and you could see that "dot" look like its inside the ball. Its a really cool effect.

so this is neat, the little fracture on the backside is a ripple from the impact traveling through the glass at a specific speed and amplifying the force as these ripples converge on the other side. it looks like the side of the convergence crack is proportional to the amount of mass traveling at that (slower) speed. .45 had most of its energy deflected off the front as pieces flew off leaving a tiny convergence crack. where the 9 had all of its energy dissipated into the sphere leaving a larger convergence crack. the 5.56 while faster the round is not much bigger than a .22 so the convergence crack is the same size or smaller than the 9. the other calibers used, well come on, their beasts. you would need a much bigger glass ball.

Well, that's because glass acts somewhat like a liquid. The shock of that bullet hitting one side causes waves inside the sphere to bounce around to other end and concentrates to the point of fracture. I mean, there's a lot more accurate way to explain it but that's kind of the dumbed down version of it. You see this kind of this in hard yet brittle materials. Concrete, glass, some metals.
