I have to mention something about the 1950s. IT WAS NOT PROGRESSIVE IN BODY TYPES!! Look at any actress of that time. They were skinnier then they are now. Marilyn by the way had a shape, but her measurements were smaller then the average model today. Also this is when diet pills, eating disorder diagnosis, and similar things started.

All of the "big" girls were too big. Even the Renaissance girl. Big women weren't really perceived as standard of beauty but as a standard of wealth. If you were skinny it probably meant you were malnourished, and if you are malnourished it would mean you are poor. Nobody wanted to look poor, so if you had the means you would want to be fluffy. But being fat as a standard of "beauty" is a stretch. There is a reason that corsets existed.

not sure about males loving larger-hip women all through history, and worst of all I love all types, flat boobs, big boobs, tall, short, over 50, over 18, blonde, asian, you name it! This video is therefore moot then really.....it may tho have some history to it, perhaps the elites/most liked certain things but we all like different things and many are beautiful AND thin normal women are common and we all have diff shapes so its not like we are really evolving that fast big hips etc nor do so many wear clothes to deform themselves into the shape....though ya back then they did do that but this vi doesnt seem to show that, i saw an article on eyelashes and hips and etc through 1920 and on....i dont think i saw i t in this vid

I hate this. Not this video in general, but the fact that women have an 'ideal body type'. We aren't put on this Earth to appease the media and society. We are here to change the world, to live, breathe and achieve what we want. We shouldn't have to constantly be surrounded by all these 'ideals'. We should live in a world where all are accepted, all are equal. There shouldn't be an 'ideal body type', because that's just going to be like being in a pressurized cooker. It's only so long before we explode.

Well, I think that you don't need to be historian to have seen Ancient Greek sculpture, a Victorian portrait/advertisement drawing or a movie/photo/advertisement drawing. If you have, then you know all three ladies here would be considered too chubby to be "ideal".

Can I just say what’s been bugging me for a long time - why are women’s body shapes a fashion trend? Why is my body a trend? Why is it , that someone who was considered the most beautiful body shape in the 90s , would now probably be made to feel self conscious and uncomfortable in their own body bc they aren’t thicc ? It personally just doesn’t sit right with me how our bodies have to be “fashionable” for us to love them and consider them beautiful, when in a few years a new “trendy” body will come in and the people with the last ideal body type are now “out of fashion”

Very beautiful women usually don't know anything about themselves being so beautiful because of wrong mental images. They haven't had a chance on knowing that in life. The historical views on who is beautiful and who is not is complete garbage, and so are the habits on men choosing their wives so that it should be followed. They are a real enemies of real common people.
