Turning a dead oak tree into a mountain bike jump with a cheap mill

Muahaha! If you're one of those people who insist I buy the optimal tool for every job, you're really gonna hate this one. Today we use a $100 chainsaw and a $30 beam cutter attachment to mill oak into planks. And it works! Then we build a nice little kicker as a proof of concept. Enjoy!

Love this video so much. So inspiring. I’ve got lots of fallen trees on my property (mostly oak) and a couple chainsaws. Never thought of this. I see some good winter projects coming up.

Imagine having a jump made out of white oak. I paid good money for white oak in my coffee bar.

Assuming that tree is arround 20 inches in diameter and is a white oak, ill subtract about an inch to compensate for the bark, the average ring density is .2 inches per ring, divide 19 by .2 and you get 95 years apx **Im guessing the diameter** Might not be accurate but that should be somewhat close comment down below if you think i did it wrong edit: years apx

White oak is incredibly beautiful when built into furniture; Seth used gorgeous white oak to build a ramp... but I’ll be damned if that isn’t the finest looking ramp I’ve ever seen.
