Jordan Update February 2020
Hi everyone, it’s been months since we’ve given an update on Jordan and my family’s health and it’s time for one so here goes.
The last year has been extremely difficult for our family. Dad was put on a low dose of a benzodiazepine a few years ago for anxiety following
an extremely severe autoimmune reaction to food. He took the medication as prescribed. Last April when my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer, the dose of the medication was increased. It became apparent that he was suffering from both a physical dependency and a paradoxical reaction to the medication. A paradoxical reaction means the drugs do the opposite of what they’re supposed to. These reactions are rare but are not unheard of.
For the last 8 months he’s been in unbearable discomfort from this drug, made worse when trying to remove it, because of the addition of withdrawal symptoms, stemming from physical dependence. He experienced terrible akathisia, which is a condition where the person feels an incredible, endless, irresistible restlessness, bordering on
panic, and an inability to sit still. The reaction made him suicidal.
After several failed treatment attempts in North American hospitals, including attempts at tapering and micro-tapering, we had to seek an emergency medical benzodiazepine detox, which we were only able to find in Russia. It was incredibly gruelling, and was further complicated by severe pneumonia which we’ve been told he developed in one of the previous hospitals. He’s had to spend 4 weeks in the ICU in terrible shape, but, with
the help of some extremely competent and courageous doctors, he survived. The decision to bring him to Russia was made in extreme desperation, when we couldn’t find any better option. The uncertainty around his recovery has been one of the most difficult and scary experiences we’ve ever had.
So: Finally Dad is on the mend, even though there’s a lot of physiological damage that he needs to recover from. He’s improving, and is off the horrible medication. His sense of humour is back. He’s smiling again for the first time in months, but he still has a long way to go to recover fully.
It appears that we are going to get through this by the skin of our teeth.
So let me make a couple of things clear:
1. Neither our family nor the doctors here believe that this is a case of
psychological addiction.
2. Benzodiazepine physical dependence due to brain changes can occur in a matter of weeks. It can be made even worse by paradoxical reactions that are difficult to diagnose, and can be extremely dangerous.
3. We’ve been told and hope that Dad will recover fully but it will take time and he still has a ways to go.
4. We are extremely lucky and grateful that he’s alive.
The next update will come from him directly. Thanks again for all the support.

Hang in there champ. You have millions of people behind you, and clearly a strong family. Take all the time to rest as possible. You have done more for mankind in the last 15 years than most ever do in a lifetime. The last few years must have extracted so much out of you. Time to recoup and rebuild ... a year off mate. We will be here.

Also, it would be wonderful to see your take on the book 📖 ‘ the Bhagvad Gita’. Take care Jordan, the world 🌍 needs you. 🍀🙏🏻🌍💯🍀

He is an utter idiot! Actually, he never says anything, he just changes the topic aggressively. Anyone who have taken one first semester philosophy course should be able to look right though his intellectual buffoonery. His current drug addiction should be regarded as an argument AGAINST his reactionary "ethics". I pity that poor girl. His pretentious arrogance and common sense hypocrisy incarnates everything thats wrong with our civilisation

My heart and prayers go out to you. I hope for speedy recovery and healing for both your dad and your mom. I am a huge fan of your dad which many find surprising seeing I am a trans person who is left leaning and very liberal. It isn't surprising to me because I agree with the majority of what your dad says. That coupled with his willingness to listen to others who have differing opinions and his encouragement of civil discord which is a true rarity on all sides these days.

And I know he will rise up again and teach us more wisdom from this experience. I understand that this has probably been hell for you and your family as well. Just remember, as your father said. Whenever I hear the name of Jordan Peterson I instantly relate it to common sense, realism, stoicism, objectivism and logical thinking. I'm so glad that there is someone like him to make important things popular, that's what society really needs, he started a revolution in human consciousness not by emotions, but by pure logic, and given that logic is really rare nowadays, he's a hero. Hang on, Peter! p.s. The broken souls who are now mocking him will learn their lessons sooner or later, they just don't have the capacity to understand logic yet.

i've read some news articles about his misfortune .... and was very angered at the first barrage of glee and joy some writers felt for his suffering , and some of the inhumane tweets , then as usual later came the more civilized articles and reactions ( ones who agree and disagree with his views ) just plain pointing out their disgust toward a minority of close minded , hateful so called FAIR extreme idea possessed leftists ... just wanted to voice my thoughts and wish the Peterson family and friends a prayer ....

Having full-body chills, so deeply saddened to hear the latest news. Apologies to each of the Petersons for lowly humanoid bullies who criticize and lash out trying to hurt (while cowardly hiding behind an anonymous internet mask). They are a hurt and weak batch, not bothering to resolve their issues and grow up, not blessed by your coaching. You have made me strong. The difference you have made to my life, as well as those I interact with, is a miracle. All is possible. I pray that you stay strong, be open to miracles, and ignore doctors. You are the miracle.

Thank you, Mikhaila. I understand that I don't understand how brave you are. Please know that your father's work has benefited myself and my family in tremendous ways, and that we pray daily for his and your family's care and comfort. I believe with all my heart that the negative issues your family is facing are direct assaults by the evil spiritual forces of this world, and that prayer is the most important response available. Your family is in God's hand, and trust in Him is the most valuable weapon for your defense. I am glad to know that there is improvement. He has work yet to do, and he is so very important to this world today. Again, thank you. You are amazing.

I would love to be able to speak with Jordan. I love the work he has done, specifically with his biblical series, and I believe I have a lot to offer him in regards to his spiritual disease he is going through. Modern (western) 'medicine' is nothing more than drugs and technology - good if you need a bone set or open heart surgery - but they do not understand actual medicine. I have a degree in Physics and have studied the Kabbalah for the last 5 or 6 years. Many of the questions that he pondered for many many years (and came up with excellent answers!) have already been answered the same way by kabbalistic interpretation. It is unlikely that he will read this comment, but if it somehow reaches the family - and even if it is not possible for a personal meeting - I HIGHLY recommend the book Power of Kabbalah, by Yehuda Berg. God bless, and God speed. Your dad has done tremendous work for the good of humanity, and we really need him. May he recover and continue to bring his care and insight to the issues at hand. Love and Respect, Jake K.

Your father is a sensitive, sensible and congniscent man; a being of rare stature that is seldom seen between Centurys. Rarely has any single man attempted to transgress the boundaries of accepted humanity and understanding in order to realise our true being, and for many of those whom attempted such a feat, the results were dire if not terminal. Jordan Peterson, your father, is no less a hero than any astronaut, artist or philosopher, nor any other being that expanded the possibilities of what it means to be a human. That he has not been already awarded the Nobel peace prize is an indictment of said organisation. I am not a religious person, but I will in this instance pray for you, your father, your mother and your family.

I am not sure if people are saying this enough. Please make sure you are all looking after yourselves as well as you are Jordan. I cannot stress the importance of this enough. He will need you more than ever when he recovers, and you all need to be strong for that. His first appearance will be when the wolves come. In our own family, we became technical; we identified requirements and resourcing, and delegated responsibilities amongst ourselves. Focussing on honesty and communication about our own state of being is really important. When you are burned out, tell someone, shift the load because it will benefit him (and us all) better in the long run if you are all a powerful, alert and well organised support unit.

I only recently discovered dr peterson but i truly have to say that throughout my life of abuse suffered at home and in foster care. Multiple meds at a young age to now 30 and not on meds for years his lectures and content have given me such a new perspective on myself and my life that i can say for the first time im not depressed anymore. Ive been less anxious and more social. Its strange because no amount of diagnosis and meds have ever made me feel as good as just realizing maybe ive just been in a pattern and truly can be fine by taking in the words of your father. Understanding te importance of having my own thoughts and words rather than what the radical left put in my brain. Im so grateful to have discovered dr Peterson and finally can say im happy to be alive and myself. I truly hope for the best recovery and want him to know even though i see he gets hate on these platforms, he also truly makes a difference in peoples lives such as my own. I can't thank him enough. I'll be praying for you.
