Jordan Update February 2020
Hi everyone, it’s been months since we’ve given an update on Jordan and my family’s health and it’s time for one so here goes.
The last year has been extremely difficult for our family. Dad was put on a low dose of a benzodiazepine a few years ago for anxiety following
an extremely severe autoimmune reaction to food. He took the medication as prescribed. Last April when my mom was diagnosed with terminal cancer, the dose of the medication was increased. It became apparent that he was suffering from both a physical dependency and a paradoxical reaction to the medication. A paradoxical reaction means the drugs do the opposite of what they’re supposed to. These reactions are rare but are not unheard of.
For the last 8 months he’s been in unbearable discomfort from this drug, made worse when trying to remove it, because of the addition of withdrawal symptoms, stemming from physical dependence. He experienced terrible akathisia, which is a condition where the person feels an incredible, endless, irresistible restlessness, bordering on
panic, and an inability to sit still. The reaction made him suicidal.
After several failed treatment attempts in North American hospitals, including attempts at tapering and micro-tapering, we had to seek an emergency medical benzodiazepine detox, which we were only able to find in Russia. It was incredibly gruelling, and was further complicated by severe pneumonia which we’ve been told he developed in one of the previous hospitals. He’s had to spend 4 weeks in the ICU in terrible shape, but, with
the help of some extremely competent and courageous doctors, he survived. The decision to bring him to Russia was made in extreme desperation, when we couldn’t find any better option. The uncertainty around his recovery has been one of the most difficult and scary experiences we’ve ever had.
So: Finally Dad is on the mend, even though there’s a lot of physiological damage that he needs to recover from. He’s improving, and is off the horrible medication. His sense of humour is back. He’s smiling again for the first time in months, but he still has a long way to go to recover fully.
It appears that we are going to get through this by the skin of our teeth.
So let me make a couple of things clear:
1. Neither our family nor the doctors here believe that this is a case of
psychological addiction.
2. Benzodiazepine physical dependence due to brain changes can occur in a matter of weeks. It can be made even worse by paradoxical reactions that are difficult to diagnose, and can be extremely dangerous.
3. We’ve been told and hope that Dad will recover fully but it will take time and he still has a ways to go.
4. We are extremely lucky and grateful that he’s alive.
The next update will come from him directly. Thanks again for all the support.

I'm a new follower of your Dad. The health issues your Dad & Mom & the suffering whole of your family gone through caught me acknowledge the pain your dad had been suffered from. Also it's a good news that your Dad is recovering. #If I may allow to share about the Nutritionist by name Dr. Biswaroop Roy Chaudhary of India, I hope that you'll have the time to research about him... (Sorry about my poor English)

I am hooked on clonazepam originally for anxiety, if i try to reduce it my anxiety goes through the roof and i know what it is like to feel suicidal. I didn't get the paradoxial effects but it must be a nightmare. I know what it feels to have akathesia from other medications and yeah pure hell. I am surprised they didn't put him on Seroquel if he was that bad, it is pretty sedating.

Breaks my heart to hear that Jordan, as well as his family, have had to suffer through this. My prayers go out to you all, Jordan has been indispensable to my own personal development in recent months, having listened to many of his podcasts. People talk of someone being a national treasure, but I think he has been a global treasure and wish you all well!

Thank you. Your father is one of the most brilliant compassionate men I've ever watched. His compassion for human kind us a source of heartbreak that he had to endure on a daily basis. Coupled with the wil to do good only to be rewarded with vitrial from the opposition would be enough to wear down even the strongest of minds. Prayers to you and your family. Many of us admire him and his willingness to speak the truth when it's more than unpopular in this narcissistic world.

I want to be there for yall, I need him to pull thru. He has helped me, and I really want to share some discoveries I made wirh him. I am a non academic but have been fascinated with people and behavior my entire life. Suffering from anxiety and depression my self for 27yrs then beating it. It is when I beat it I made a huge discovery. Comfort is nothing mor than the lack of discomfort. This though simple, was the seed that the philosophy grew. I want to share it with him and see how his very wise academic brain sees it.

He knew better not to increase the Tranqs. Jordan is wonderful but who isn't on ISpulse, Anywhere really. Watched many of his videos with much delight. However, he still weaves in and out of unconscious identification and oftentimes nasty, especially if it's a no tribesman, if you will. Protest videos show an EQ of ??? Lil tyke?! Stay Blessed. Less negativity and Such a need to be right. Which is a form of violence, says E Tolle. Best,

Glad to see Jordan is doing better. I've been there. If there's anything I can do, I'd be honored. Fortunately, I was only on it (a benzodiazepine) briefly and "as needed" (PRN) and soon learned that they were BANNED from long-term use in the UK and so I stopped. (UK's NHS/National Health Service: "only be prescribed as a last resort when alternatives have been explored" and even then "only be prescribed at the lowest effective dose for the shortest time possible (2 to 4 weeks)" ) See: The Residual Medium and Long-term Cognitive Effects of Benzodiazepine Use: An Updated Meta-analysis (Full PDF Free) : Benzodiazepine detoxification 14-28 night

@Soapdish 3 - Well i was making a general point about religion, in that some devout followers end up murdering people, so maybe youtube prefers to cover-up murder?

Well considering his God allowed His Son to die on a cross, his God probably doesn't think curing everyone of everything is the way to further His plan

Yeah, it's strange that a God who doesn't exist can't cure Dr. Peterson. Anyway, I'm sure Dr. Peterson will be OK. He needn't worry about the kung flu because there's more chance of seeing flying pigs than there is of dying from Covid-1984. Perception deception.
