Yea..I agree..I would not use this to build a nail. I have naturally long nails and I've done the whole tea bag patch..but would try this.

I use a resin and the activator with the fiberglass or silk. Three layers and it is just as strong as any acrylic.

The fiber glass or silk material is actually meant for strengthening briddle or weak nail in the lenght of a natural nail, Not for nail extensions, for that you have other more durable product. But hey Can it be done? Absolutely!!! And you just proved it, so great vid ! Let us kno how tht held up for you! 👍🏻👋🏻💯

Excellent application comes with understanding this product. Fiberglass nails are the best nails ever because they don't scream 'FAKE' when you see them. It requires a slightly different skill set from gel or acrylic but the results are SO worth the effort. This experiment doesn't showcase this products potential but you are fun to watch. I have very curved and used the glue, activator, and silk, and it pulled my nail flat. It was rather painful, I went back to patching with my own acrylic mixture, and now switch that off with 123 nails from Max Estrada.

I'm trying to learn ways to protect my nail tips because the growth of a thin, flimsy nail has a sensation that makes me bite, trying to prevent triggers. I'm getting better. I've been looking at fiber glass, also saw an OLD video where someone uses tissue paper, polish, and layer to hearts content to fix a broken nail; could assume people have tried to thicken tips that way. Any thoughts?

I was curious about this system. I’m personally a bigger fan of acrylic with gel polish over top. Since I can’t go get my nails done, I’ve been using glue and my acrylic powder to do a modified dip powder process. It’s wonderful for growing out my natural nails. I’ve also used color dip powder product in the acrylic process but my roommate can’t stand the smell of acrylic. So modified dip powder it is (at least until we’re out of quarantine 😌)

I started using nails enhancements with fiberglass in the 90’s they were very expensive compared with acrylic ones but they are beautiful and they don’t have the problems that now many people are having because of the industry is growing so much and companies not all of them of course are not doing their homework with the monomers and gels full of HEMA that are producing lots of allergies, and problems to the nails bed, that why is very important that whatever we use we do our research on the components and see if it works for us.also the glue as you said it shouldn’t be regular nail glue it have to be resin it have more viscosity add thickness and avoid breaking that can really hurts. 30 years using them and can’t complain.

I was trying to grow my natural nails but they are incredibly thin. I tried these products on a tear. They were horrible! At first I thought ok its going to hold but by the next night the tear was open and the product was lifting. And like yours it wasn’t very attractive. Now I’m glad to know it wasn’t just me and my lack of being a professional! Thanks Suzie
