It's the first (and second to last?) Marc Webb Spider-Man movie! It's gotten quite the backlash in the past few years but Nostalgia Critic is wondering if it's worth all the anger. Let's take a look at The Amazing Spider-Man.

But where does the line go when it comes to "too" safe and grounded? Lets take the Joker in the Dark Knight, instead of some guy either security guard who wants to become a stand up comedian or mobster falling into acid we got a psychopath wearing a custom made purple suit, white make up and a Glasgow smile, but it worked Ledger managed to take something safe and grounded and make it scary as hell. But what is too safe when it comes to the Lizard? He looks more like lizardman rather then a manlizard, he doesn't have the shredded clothes and Peter just stand by when he's sent to prison rather then keeping his alter ego safe.

Some people hate on Spider-Man 3 due to one scene the dance scene.people think it’s just a silly scene what makes no sense but it actually makes a lot of sense Peter Parker isn’t cool and has no idea of what cool looks like so when the symbiote bonds with him it gives him confidence and makes Peter Parker do the stuff he usually wouldn’t do in peters head cool is dancing down the street and hitting on women the audience know it’s not cool but peter who is socially awkward who only has 2 friends willl not no any better especially when he saw flash from Spider-Man 1 getting labelled as a cool kid for being a douche.spider-man 3 is a billion times better than the amazing Spider-Man movies which had more plot holes than potholes.

22:03 Nostalgia Critic, haven't you seen the new Spider-Man movies? Because there's already a Spidey that combines both Maguire & Garfield's take on the character. And his name is Tom Holland. Even the co-creator of the character, Stan Lee (God Rest His Soul) admitted on a tweet several years back that Holland did the job perfectly, that he was the Spider-Man he imagined while writing the character. That is probably 80% as to why the MCU Spider-Man Movies are considered the greatest. The other 20% as to why the MCU Movies are the most beloved out of all the films is because, much like in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Everybody imagined all there favourite Marvel Superheroes getting together and being heroes we love to look up to.

Apart the "show" on the review and the comedy of the presentation, I like the impartial rating, without the internet hating background and the big picture in mind, not to mention the knowledge to really critique movies, unlike the majority of people, sites and channels that don't have those, just pretend to have.

When Marvel released their first X-Men movie in 2000, it was a brand new way of doing a comic book movie - don't make it like a comic book, but take the basic concepts & characters and play them out out in as real world a setting as you can. The Batman reboot would take this concept and develop it further and even more successfully. By the time the MCU launched in 2008, Marvel Studios had gotten the tone perfect, balancing out the real and the fantastic. Older series like Sam Raimi's Spider-Man and Tim Burton's Batman were good yet operatically over the top entertainments, bearing the stamp of their auteur directors. Yet they just feel locked to their era, examples of the old way of doing these movies.

I loved the original trilogy and was very sad that Maguire wouldn't play Spider-Man, anymore. But after i've seen this movie, I thought it's pretty good...just to be even more disappointed by TASP3, than i was by SP3. Homecoming was okay, but I hate this SJW stuff they put in it, even though it's kind of self-ironical, still don't like the SJW stuff...I don't like it, okay, guess you know it know, I don't like it.

@SteveCrafts2k "It's literally a modern take on the hero, of course there will be some changes" Yes, and as I said, I thought the movie was okay, don't really get what your problem is.

3. Pleastendub
13 dögum síðan

@SteveCrafts2k Nothing that you've mentioned had anything to do with what I meant by SJW, there were other things. Got work to do, I'll explain it next time.

5. SteveCrafts2k
13 dögum síðan

@Pleastendub It's literally a modern take on the hero. Of course there will be some changes. Look at Flash. He's a Guatemalan-American, doesn't mean that's his character. He's now a modern bully, in that he verbally abuses Peter because he's jealous of him, and how Peter has what Flash didn't have: respect from the decathlon team.

This is Doug Walker's trustworthy actors that he relates than playing the roles of being a great superhero... Good portrayals that he prefer: Michael Keaton as Batman Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man Bad portrayals that he did not prefer: Christian Bale as Batman Tobey Maguire as Spider-Man Some eh portrayals that he almost prefer or what: Ben Affleck as Batman Tom Holland as Spider-Man ...maybe Robert Pattinson will maybe be better Batman than Affleck.. See the difference that the Critic likes prefer the most? For anything Doug, go watch Hacksaw Ridge, Silence, and Under the Silver Lake because he did good roles if you enjoy Andrew's performance.

deleted scenes make it so much better it's a modern movie with modern techniques with great young looking cast instead of dad bod dead fishes it offers something new which for movie fanboys may seem sacrilege but comics already did that to death several times, including radioactive spidercum but the cut out all the parts which made this story make sense glad they've fixed everything in the sequel

Honestly I’ve been reading comics since I was 7 and I actually quite enjoyed this version of Spider-Man as a movie series. While it has its problems (what movie adaptation doesn’t?) I find that it held a better feel to the powers (including the non-organic webbing which didn’t show up for the comics Spider-Man until wayyy later in the story and was merely temporary) and his attitude as Spider-Man. Do I like the current Marvel adaptation better? Yes. Do I feel like this movie deserves hate? Not at all. Now the second one.. there is a debate to be had with that one.
