    The first time I watched this, I had not seen the origin of the music. Rewatching it now, I can't help but imagine Moog dancing on the roof of the MR2, imagining a dance crew all around. Marty wondering, as usual, what's going on...

    Marty, I can relate to your frustration in this video so much with how old bolts brake and new parts are wrong parts. I bet you wish there was someone to give you an extra hand with that fuel tank lol. As someone that almost always has to work on my cars by myself i wish i had a camera guy to watch me struggle.

    Being from Chicago as well I deal with rust everyday on cars. Use the booty juice "pb blast or wd40" and it will save your headache. Elsewise gas torch is ya best friend m8! ✌ chop that sheet down!

    That questionable object in the air filter looks like it is there to prevent filter collapse. Air is pretty thick stuff at high speeds and large pressure differentials. I wonder if it is a standard thing for that filter series or a filter add on? 🤔

    a friend in uk has three of these and he said the easiest way to work on one in engine bay is DROP the subframe and pull the whole thing from under the car..makes it a heck of alot easier

    Not sure if this would've helped with your tank, but for motorcycles a common thing to do is get a bunch of clean nuts and some denatured alcohol, throw those in the tank and just shake the hell out of it for an hour or so, helps remove loose rust and cleans up the inside quite a bit!!

    Have you delt with the "hose from hell" yet? It usually requires you pull the motor to remove a 3" hose. NEVERMIND! 4 mins in and you mention it. I wish I had an mr2....

    Coming from Montreal Canada, I suggest wearing glasses when working under the car. Learnt my lesson the hard way when a piece of rust flew into my eye.. let's just say it was not a good time mate

      I would have thought the rear suspension/ engine cradle all dropped out as a single unit. I think pulling it out probably would have been worth it.

      fixing it. You don’t want it to be for nothing. 2- expect to have to pull the engine. Even if the engine is running good, timing belts will require the engine to be pulled.

    Watching this MRPOO series just makes me hurt; many memories of working on cars that just don't want to be changed. Also - does it hurt more knowing that you have a mate there with you, but their main roll is to be on the camera. #weallhavethatuselessmate

    little tip - when fitting silicon hoses, spray a small amount of wd40 in it at the ends and it will slide on the pipes so much easier.

    I have owned 5 MR 2's 2 turbos and 3 aspirated (one a parts car. They cost a fortune to fix because of the rear engine configuration but are fun to drive but no match for the more modern BMW 3 series and Golf Gti's. Only upside is that they are so easy to sell because they have such a passionate fan base and I have had people drive a 1000 miles to pick my car up no problem!
