Catch Me If You Can | Frank Abagnale | Talks at Google

103 339 Áhorf 11 m.

For Google's Security and Privacy Month, we are honored to present the real Frank Abagnale, Renowned Cybersecurity And Fraud Prevention Expert, Bestselling Author & Subject of Catch Me If You Can.
His transformation from one of the world’s most notorious con men to an international cybersecurity expert trusted by the FBI has been mythologized in film and literature - but the takeaways he shares are the real deal.
Frank's contributions to the world of security are immeasurable. He has become a hero to hundreds of public and private sector organizations for his indispensable counsel and strategic insight on safeguarding information systems and combating cyber-fraud.
With an eye on the latest techniques developed by high-tech criminals to deceive and defraud, Frank leaves audiences with a deep understanding of today’s evolving security landscape, and more importantly, a vision of how to make the world a safer place.

I like how Leonardo Dicapprio who played Frank in the movie Told a reporter that he liked the man cause he never really hurt anyone . Really ,If Frank could have he would have cleaned out Leonardo’s entire life’s savings Without any remorse,as he has Never lost sleep for any of his past crimes. Pretending to be Doctor his narcissism would never care that he could endanger a sick patients life. Yes he’s very smart but equally very Amoral.

Wow, the undeniable authenticity of this presentation from a man renowned for ability to lie is such a great comfort for the benevolence of God. This man’s life reminds me of the story of Joseph, in a way. The sincere gratitude for life, despite it’s hardships, embedded in this man’s speech is a model for Christians. To realize the measure of blessing given to him, through his wife and consequently children by God, is an amazing example of humility despite his worldly accomplishments. I’ve not seen this film yet, but it just moved to the top of my list. His advice during the questions to be one’s own measuring stick for success was also fantastic.

His white persona granted him the privilege to be perceived in ways that granted him access to places and jobs for which he had no credentials and his white privilege granted him the opportunity to ultimately benefit from his crimes. Conversely, the perceived persona of black men have gotten many black men killed and landed many others in jail. The social engineering/hacking that Frank did reminds me very much of Kevin Mitnick in the computer world. It's obvious to me that such people study the social norms for ways to hack in or otherwise 'game' the system. And it's also obvious to me why the FBI would want someone with such abilities working for them. Better to have them working, supervised, for the so-called good guys.
