Is It Too Late To Stop Climate Change? Well, it's Complicated.

This video is part of a series about climate change supported by Breakthrough Energy - a coalition founded by Bill Gates, that is working to expand clean-energy investment and support the innovations that will lead the world to net-zero carbon emissions.

Climate Change is just too much. There is never any good news. Only graphs that get more and more red and angry. Almost every year breaks some horrible record, from the harshest heat waves to the most rapid Glacier melt. It’s endless and relentless.
We have known for decades that rapid Climate Change is being caused by the release of Greenhouse Gases. But instead of reducing them, in 2019 the world was emitting 50% more CO2 than in the year 2000. And emissions are still rising. Why is that? Why is it so hard to just stop emitting these gases?

These implications are not to be afraid of. We have to adapt. We have to grow or be killed. It is not a safe world, greed has driven ppl to extremes. For these negative desires, we will be competing for survival. To live comfortably, when the most comfort is laying on a hammock in the wilderness on the beach, at ur finger tips..... We are fully challenged, as we speak, these same implication has left the reptiles, the dino days to stay fittest.

ok so like ireland actually did this they don’t use fossil fuels anymore all of their energy is renewable because they cut funds for fossil fuel companies and i think have it to companies that could make renewable energy. this could be a lot easier than we think but the oil industry is so large in so many companies it would still be pretty difficult.

A minor problem to going more renewable energy is consistentcy. Sometimes the sun wont shine for days or there won’t be wind for months (strange but true) and if we switch out fossil fuel with more renewable there could be some dire consequences we may not even know might happen such as sudden blackouts do to the unavailability of energy. However I do want to see global warming be reduced and wonder what will happen next.

Where I'm from, a developing country, the majority of the people don't have time, resource, or money to care about global warming,. factories are still being built for American corporates to create jobs. The people are happy with it and the government will continue to encourage these infrastructures. Remember, the vast majority of the world are developing countries.

And then, theres germany. Germany taxes carbon, but allows companies like those running our coal plants to buy up capacity for carbon emission from tech companies whose carbon footprint, in comparison, is neglegible, so that they get off scott free. German politicians complain about cutting 8000 jobs in the fossil fuel sector, but have no problems doing the same in renewable energy. German politicians wont keep up subsidies for renewable energy because big coal (Yes, its big coal in germany, not big oil) keeps paying them off with the money that the same german politicians just gave to them as subsidies, because the coal sector wouldve long switched to more sustainable methods, was it not for those very subsidies. And to top it all off, they pretend germany is the nation doing the energy revolution.

The most logical way to combat this would be to decommission unused naval units and limit foreign trade. Not putting a tax on the average person who isn’t contributing to it. We don’t have clean energy is the main reason for climate change. If we had solar plants and not oil or nuclear plants it wouldn’t matter what we do at home or what we charge. Its how we do it. How we make food can change as well, but we will always have natural CO2 from humans, food, animals etc. The ecosystem is self sustainable from renewing itself but when we kill it cant renew itself, when its man made chemicals.

    1. Saigan
