People literally demonized him for not speaking about the blm movement but didn't pay enough attention to realizes his entire catalog spoke out against the racist culture and produces nothing but masterpieces like this. The pain is his voice alone makes him legend fuck you if you think different.

"forget this chain because it ain't me." a whole double entrende. First meaning being that the luxury chains he wore should not be how you see him and that you should not label him based on those chains. The second meaning being the figurative chains that black slaves wore. Him being a descendant of those slaves would mean that those same chains stil apply to him, not physically but mentally to keep our people from rising. The chains here could also be a metaphor for the tools the leaders of this world use to keep us distracted/brainwashed such as materialistic things. Why I say this is because the way we've been programmed from birth to not ask questions but to accept and live in a system that does not favour us(by us I mean all of humanity), thus we are mentally enslaved. So him saying "forget this chain because it ain't me," his basically saying that he is aware of how this world really is and will no longer be enslaved by it.
